While researching for potential companies to collaborate with, our main goal was to bridge our love for nature with the background and home of our NANO Avatars. As many of you might already know, almost any META NANOs character either comes from, or lives in nature, such as Sergeant Hop, Pandalorian, Morgan Treeman, Green Eugene, Chappy, Skylar and many more…
STORYLINE
Did you know that last decade was the hottest in 125,000 years? According to NASA and Copernicus Climate Change Service, 2016 and 2020 are crowned as the hottest and second hottest years by a tiny margin. The past years were immensely hot, which caused multiple natural disasters observed in different parts of the world. Deadly wildfires in Australia, California and Greece, severe heatwaves in Europe, US, and India. Temperatures across Europe are soaring yet again, France experienced its hottest May on record.
Temperatures are on average about 2 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they were in the 19th Century.
Human activities such as the burning of oil, coal, and gas, as well as deforestation are the primary cause of the increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.
When reading those facts and seeing the numbers, it was very clear for us that we wanted to collaborate with an organization who gathers and coordinates reforestation efforts, enabling every individual, company, or planter to participate. Tree Nation does exactly that.
MORGAN TREEMAN CAMPAIGN
The Morgan Treeman Campaign came to life to stop climate change, but to stop climate change — we need to stop deforestation. Climate Change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions, of which CO2 is by far the most important one. Did you know that deforestation is responsible of 17% of these CO2 emissions?
Trees play a key role in our ecosystems and cutting them has devastating effects. Deforestation not only affects our flora and fauna, but it also affects humans alike.
